Sock Thievery and Similar Puppy Problems

Sock Stealing and Similar Puppy Problems

Ask anyone who has ever had a little dog and they will surely advise you that one of any puppy’s favorite activities is naughtily hunting through the home to find items to carry away, such as paper towels, plasric toys and more. In fact, this is sometimes so fun for dogs that without proper training, even many adult dogs will keep doing it.,

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Often, it develops into a game of "catch me if you can", where the humans run around trying to get the prize while the puppy {runs away to escape|runs around outsmarting them.

So, what’s a person to do? You can’t simply let the dog chew up the item…To let them continue would be dangerous for your dog, damaging to your items and certainly not conducive to teaching the dog not to do that anymore.

In desperation, many people try the dog treat, used to encourage the dog into dropping the item in favor of the snack. However this serves as a reward for stealing stuff and puppies quickly figure out that whenever they want an extra snack, they can simply steal something to end up getting one.
